Terms and conditions
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms apply when you use our website or buy services from us. Please read them carefully. If you have any questions, email hello@webmatrixlab.com.
1. Who we are
Web Matrix Lab is a trading name of MACROGEN LTD, 38 Mary Carpenter Avenue, Yaldhurst, Christchurch 8042, New Zealand. "We", "us" and "our" mean Web Matrix Lab. "You" means the person or business using our website or services.
2. Quotes and agreements
Before we start a project, we'll send you a quote or proposal. It sets out what we'll do, the price and the timeline. When you accept it, these terms and the quote together form our agreement. If they disagree, the quote wins.
3. Prices and GST
All prices are in New Zealand dollars. We are registered for GST. Prices are shown plus GST unless we say otherwise.
4. Payment
Payment terms are set out in your quote or invoice. If an invoice is overdue, we may pause work or services until it is paid.
5. What we need from you
- Clear information about your business, and your content (text, logo, photos, menu, prices) in good time.
- Feedback and approvals when we ask for them.
- Confirmation that you have the right to use any content you give us, such as photos and logos.
If content or approvals are late, the timeline moves back.
6. Restaurant website offer ($89 + GST)
- The offer is for restaurants, cafés, takeaways and other food businesses based in Christchurch, New Zealand. One website per business.
- The price is $89 + GST ($102.35 including GST), paid once. There are no monthly fees for the website design.
- It covers website design only, with up to 20 pages, including a menu page, contact form, Google Maps and a WhatsApp button.
- We send you a free preview of your website within 24 hours of receiving your details. You can ask for unlimited changes before launch.
- Your website goes live in 3–5 working days, once you've approved it and we have the content we need.
- You can use your own logo and photos, or we can supply photos. Photos we supply are royalty-free stock photos, used under their licence.
- It includes 1 year of free technical support from launch: fixing errors, and WordPress and plugin updates. New pages, new features or a redesign after launch can be quoted separately.
- A domain name and hosting are not included. Domain names cost from $15 a year, depending on the name. Our hosting is $60 + GST a year, or $5 a month.
- The offer ends at 11:59pm on 15 November 2026 (NZ time). After that, the price goes back to $999 + GST.
7. WordPress hosting
- Our WordPress hosting costs $60 + GST a year, or $5 a month.
- Hosting continues until you tell us you want to stop. If you leave, we'll help you move your website.
- You must not use our hosting for anything illegal, harmful or that breaks someone else's rights, or in a way that affects other customers.
- We work hard to keep websites online, but we can't promise there will never be downtime. We recommend you keep your own copies of important content.
8. Domain names
Domain names are registered through a domain registrar and renew every year. The price depends on the name. The registrar's own rules also apply.
9. Ownership
When you've paid in full, you own the final design of your website and you keep ownership of all content you gave us. Software, themes, plugins and stock photos made by others stay under their own licences. Unless you ask us not to, we may show your website in our portfolio.
10. Third-party services
Some services we use or set up for you are run by other companies, for example WordPress plugins, Google, Meta and payment providers. Their terms apply to those services, and we're not responsible for changes they make.
11. Your rights as a consumer
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where those laws apply. If you're buying our services for a business, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply, as far as the law allows, and that this is fair and reasonable.
12. Liability
As far as the law allows, we're not liable for any indirect loss, such as lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service the claim relates to.
13. Ending an agreement
Either of us can end an agreement by giving written notice. You'll need to pay for work done up to that point.
14. Using our website
The information on our website is general information only. We try to keep it accurate and up to date, but it may change. Our website links to other websites, which we don't control.
15. Privacy
Read our Privacy Policy to see how we look after your personal information.
16. Law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
17. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website applies from the date shown at the top.
